Beginning today Alexander McQueen’s website has options to purchase entire Autumn/Winter ‘08 looks including shoes and accessories. Click HERE to see more, including these there-is-none-hotter cut-out, peep-toe heels with skulls hanging off the laces -we are considering implementing these as part of the Army of M.E. uniform…for the femmes only, of course. And this complete look that we love which includes a gypsy evening dress paired with sequined leggings and jewelled heel slingbacks, all of which total nearly half a year’s rent.

It’s getting harder and harder to write about fashion when people dress like THIS and websites launch that sell THIS. It’s like some downtown Manhattan pipe burst and a large cross-section of females inhaled the rotten air and their brains farted the idea that dressing in leftover 80’s vomit looks good. Sorry, but the Army of M.E. is declaring war on this style-less-ness. We will let the Billyburg peeps off on account of the overall style rating for that side of town = absolute shit. Seriously, L train platform fashions include messenger bags and corduroy coats with elbow patches! When are people caught in this 80’s mindset going to stop and realize they are all following each other and look alike? We couldn’t have said it better than SUGAR in a post that’s about a year old summarizing this persisting trend.
It’s been weeks since we had a Monday morning briefing -mostly due to it being summer, when most NYers weekend in the Hampton’s. In celebration of our return to NYC, the Army of M.E. spent a much-needed full weekend in our favorite city in the world and the weather could not have been more obliging. When the perfectly warm days surrender to cool nights…as that baby blue sky beckons nostalgia and the twilight expectations of what’s to come of a night in a city like New York, well, that’s our quintessential NYC moment. It mostly meant sample sale hopping and early cocktails to us…
We hit the Secret Threads sample sale which sells one of our favorite NYC labels, Spring & Clifton and we swung by The Good The Bad & The Ugly to wish them farewell -apparently business will continue online. There were great discounts, djs and the Heartschallenger ice cream truck -which was what really motivated us down to Kenmare!

Two more sales that you are not too late for are the Honey in the Rough sale which began this weekend and is continuing -20-50% off spring/summer items. And the Oak (304050) sale -it’s a three week end of season sale both online and in-store. Discounts begin at 30% off and increase by ten percent more off each week -hence the name. Just apply same philosophy you do for the Prada sale…are you a first day, get the best selection at a little discount person? Or, a last day, grab the scraps at ridiculously discounted prices person? Personally, I go for both -cuz I’m just obsessed like that.
