21JulShoe-gasm Courtesy Of Kris Van Assche

The Army of M.E. is not shy about our love for ‘Fatal Attraction’-like obsession with all things perforated. After the femmes of our bunker had a collective bagasm over last month’s bag discovery (click HERE), the males have now been blessed with our equivalent of the perfect bag in the below dope trainers and accessories from the Kris Van Assche S/S ‘09 collection. Second only to our perforation obsession is Bottega Veneta-style weaving -seen in the electric blue belt. As for the final photo of the hat, it gets a bit more complicated. Hats are elemental for impending seasons as seen on several runways, however, we must admit that the swarms of downtowners currently rocking hats can sometimes beckon the subconscious thought: ‘twat’. It’s mostly because we hate seeing everyone wearing the same thing. Proceed with caution is all we’re advising. Somehow my girlfriend on the beach wearing it more as utility than anything else is how I see it best. But there are women (such as aforementioned g-friend) who love a man who’s confident enough in his masculinity to rock the occasional pink or a hat such as this one…though likely not at the same time.

21JulBen Grimes To Launch First Fashion Collection

British model and former Burberry fragrance face, Ben (short for Benoite) Grimes, will be launching her first capsule fashion collection during the next London Fashion Week. She teamed up with former Richard Nicoll designer and good friend, Lily Parker, for this collaboration they’re fittingly calling LPBG. The looks reminisce ’70’s style with Grimes wanting to, “bring old-school detailing to modern pieces.” The clothes sound fun and flirty with high hemlines, cropped jackets, shorts and separates for Spring ‘09.

21JulCostume National Sources Social Networks For Models

For all those amateur models with a labored over Myspace/Facebook profile, upload your best photos because Ennio Capasa is looking! Apparently, Costume National used social networking to find models for the label’s Autumn/Winter ‘09 campaign. Ennio Capasa, the creative director, has decided upon 12 rather diverse models for the shoot to take place in Queens with photographer Stefan Ruiz. According to Capasa, “Social networking is one of the most interesting phenomena today on the internet. It represents the great change and dynamism of a society that is increasingly a compulsive consumer of communication and contacts.” Well said Ennio, I’ve always deemed such entities for teens and the pedophiles who love them -but of course I joined anyway. It was an exercise to stay current and unopposed to the influence of youth culture.

21JulShe And Him Video

Although “The Happening” completely sucked, we are no less enchanted by Zooey Deschanel and her adorable face, figure and style. Equally impressed by her shower singing in “Elf”, it was clear she was a woman of many talents. Although her band ‘She and Him’ is just not the kind of music we play in our bunkers, we want to embrace and support as much as we can. However, we collectively dislike this video. It’s attempt at pop art-like cartoon infusion falls lame but perhaps it fits the music perfectly and because we’re not into that aspect, we are not into the visual interpretation. To each his own, it’s just our opinion and we welcome others -point is, our posting this means we support it but it’s just not our style.
