07SepNew York Fashion Week Arrives

Neglect is such a dirty word but this week you may see some of it from us (much like last week). Advanced apologies. The Army of M.E. are collectively like chickens without heads -between sending kids to school and dealing with all the fashion week shows and parties there’s hardly any time to sleep let alone write on here but we promise to do our best. Much like fashion week in NY last year at this time, it’s been a sweaty affair thus far. However, yesterday’s awfully drab rain cleared way for today’s perfect weather sans the humidity. We’re not going to bore you with the dronings of our affairs and front row seats, it just seems silly -we sometimes feel silly being there. Plus, we realized after seeing 30 seconds of that Rachel Zoe reality TV show preview how incredibly disgusting it is to listen to/read other people gushing over inaccessable clothes. It makes you feel like you need to shower, or vomit -there’s just no way to not sound completely pretensious or utterly stupid when doing so. We were always more about Paris when it came to fashion weeks but thus far we’ve seen some really great looks which we will share with you. What we do love about NY is that what we see on the runway is translatable to the street/our bodies -we know, that’s the very thing that makes it more ‘boring’ than Europe shows but it’s the practicality in us. It’s all about the inspiration of it all…the next thing, a vision of spring via clothing. It’s lovely, it’s artistic and it’s fun -no harm in any of that. But we’re a little more pre-occupied with the current presidential election so while we see you at the parties, we’ll likely have a political agenda. Here’s the most stylish member of The Army of M.E. on her first day of pre-school striking a pose -we taught her well…
