How could you not stand behind someone, something that mobilizes people in this way. These are the kind of people (not because of who they vote for, but because of the values they possess) I am proud to call my neighbors. There is so much hate circulating, even racism that I see in members of my own family! Yes, it makes me want to grab a blunt object and get violent but I am way above that. It’s time for the opposite, for unconditional love. It’s what our nation needs now. It’s time for our country to heal -if you are against Barack Obama I respect your right to that opinion, but if he becomes our next president we need to unite. The kind of Barack Obama supporters I’ve encountered are the type of people to embrace. We should all be disgusted by what has happened to our country -it’s time to rise again and we can only do it in unison, regardless of party lines. Much peace & love from The Army of M.E.

Did we mention that The Army of M.E. supports Barack Obama? Ha ha, just kidding -it’s evident just by our home page that we do. Well, in these final weeks the endless endorsements from significant figures are rolling in for Obama. First Colin Powell’s brilliant Meet The Press interview on Sunday, yesterday republican Christopher Buckley on The Daily Show and today Scott McClellan -not surprising after reading his book. But the most significant things being mentioned are about racism and ignorance -you can’t have the former without the latter. Well Colin Powell pretty much said ’so what’ to the Obama - Muslim association and we couldn’t help but scream violently ‘THANK YOU!’ Finally, someone said it (besides us)!! Then tonight on Larry King Michael Moore brought up great, hopeful points about the state of this country and the need for change. He pointed out another thing that no one has been able to say (except us) which is that this election is not Obama vs. McCain, it’s Obama vs. ignorance. The fact that people in this country even see color at this point is so gross and that republican-minded media (FOX) has the audacity to condemn Powell’s support a matter of race. Bitch, please! It just seems like democrats are so obliging and welcoming to republicans who turn democrat and embracing ignorance in attempt to educate it. I tell you what though, from all that I’ve seen and heard from the people who have attended my events, that patience has reached its limit. If Obama doesn’t win it will be anarchy, revolution and mass exodus. How it wasn’t when Bush was elected a second term was just about as shocking to me as declaring war on Iraq -but this time, I suspect: there will be blood! The ignorant few can’t ruin it for the rest of us again. The Army of M.E. has spoken -our army is mobilized and we are ready for victory on Nov. 4th! The Army of M.E. never shuts up about our addiction to dlisted and our unwavering love for Michael K. -the man behind the site. However, there was a minor oversight yesterday with the ‘Hot Slut of the Day’ crowning. It went to the gorgeous voice of the woman who sings ‘Thank You For Being a Friend’, the Golden Girls theme song. The Army of M.E. has determined in the land of our Republik of Style that the ‘Hot Slut of the Day’ should actually be the woman in the below video who tried to handcuff Satan spawn Karl Rove. He was sitting on a panel spitting his usual hellfire of lies when she walked up on stage and attempted to handcuff him -as she was escorted away she was shouting that he should be arrested for treason. Right on! This woman just may be the Hot Slut of the month as far as we’re concerned! Incidentally, she was not arrested and watch all of the below news highlight to see other protesters who needed to be dragged away and harsh words dished out to Rove from those on the panel with him.
The Army of M.E. has organized a field trip to see this tonight…it will be hysterical and infuriating all at once. I look forward to the colorful audience response which never disappoints in NYC…

I’m not at all shy about the fact that dlisted is my crack -I do depart from time to time but whenever I’m feeling particularly stressed I like to turn off my brain and browse through Michael K’s hilarity. I don’t care about what he writes about it’s just the things he says that keeps me coming back. There was one particularly poignant post today showing photos, such as the one below, of Suri Cruise and her mommy gallivanting around Manhattan with their Hermes bags swinging in the air. My immediate thought was how much did Hermes pay them for this blatant advertisement? My next thought was, if they weren’t getting payed for the overt sponsorship then how insensitive and disgusting can you be as the economy tanks and your 3-year-old swings the signature orange bag in sync with her sidewalk skip? But the revelation and true lesson of the post arrives in the 100+ comments (& growing) about just this matter. FINALLY people are beginning to focus on what is important. I, myself, am finding it hard to draw material for this site because the subject of fashion/style is so unimportant right now. There, I said it…
THANK YOU so much to the boys over at Division Street (photo courtesy of them) for so poignantly highlighting a recent downtown trend that nearly made me regurgitate my appetizers the other evening when I too saw them more than once in one night. Here’s the thing, I’m not into finance people, see: The House grilling Lehman CEO, Dick Fuld, for all the reasons why. Why in the world would anyone want to emulate the already awful, bland style of a soulless demographic like this? Yes, I’m scathing, but as I write this the stock market opened and fell another 600 points in the first few moments -do you know who this effects? You and I and our 401(k)s and it doesn’t touch the kind of people who wear these shoes (and this whole tanking economy is all the fault of opportunistic finance people alike) just watch this as an exercise in de-programming you from ever gravitating towards these hideous shoes:

We are going to work this weekend to bring you the best of Paris Fashion Week since we’ve been so neglectful…can you forgive us?

One of the most anticipated shows of Paris fashion week is Gareth Pugh’s Parisian debut which took place yesterday -full shots in a later post. What I’ve just discovered on YouTube are two videos from the show -one from COACD and the other from Suzy Bubble. Oddly, they both seemed to have been sitting right next to each other but more poignantly is the fact that they are just behind Hamish Bowles and pretty close to front row. Now, being the front seat crasher I am -I understand how easy this is to achieve but it does make an impression upon me about where bloggers/free media stand in relation to traditional media. Yes, I know, old news -but it really is amazing how quickly the barriers have eroded and how far a free blogger account can get someone. Talent is naturally a pre-requisite.
