I had a hard time figuring out which looks to not include in this highlight. I really enjoyed this show and the Army of M.E. obviously loves that Michelle Obama chose his dress at the convention the night Barack accepted his nomination for president. Not to mention our huge crush on adorable Thakoon himself…lots of love here…

This was a fun show with many elements to it. Yup, that’s the generic, unemotional quip I have and I’m sticking to it. I can’t force any more words than that. I did love the two striped dresses and the preppy red striped sweater look. I absolutely hate the chunky, clunky lace up shoes. I will never like the chunk when it comes to shoes -not on me or anyone else. Sorry. It’s been going strong for yeaaaaaaars now and I just won’t subscribe. The other shoes were fine though. Opening today, quite oddly, in the Saatchi & Saatchi building in west Soho is a faux department store installation of Slow and Steady Wins the Race product. Designer Mary Ping has set up ‘departments’ similar to that one would typically be used to -complete with a perfume counter and a bridal atelier. You will find the complete archive of Slow and Steady products amongst the departments. It’s all on one floor of the business-laden building for four days. Um, Rag & Bone or Rock & Republic? Just kidding, that’s a horrific thing to say -I really like Rag & Bone. The concept was intended to be an ode to some of the punk music stylings born from their native, England. We obviously favored pieces and entire looks from the men’s looks:
It goes without saying that I love Preen, it’s in my closet and I’ve been a fan since the jersey/sweat material era. But I feel as if I’ve sat at a similar show three times since the duo began showing in New York a year ago. I am not saying I did not love the below looks but I so wish I didn’t see a drawstring waist, a one-piece jumper, and those lace up embellishments.
