Although the Army of M.E. has allies working on the front lines of Hayden-Harnett, they were unable to confirm the brand’s possible collaboration with Target when we inquired a few weeks ago (WWD speculated the deal). Through our own rekon/spy network we’ve since found out that the collaboration is, in fact, slated to happen! I know, you’re wondering the reason for the exclamation point when all the other collaborative lines have left us so disappointed. Thus far, those tapped by Target have read like a list of my favorite accessories designers and yet on launch day (or even prior, during photo leaks), I’m left trashing the pieces because they look incredibly cheap. Well, we’ve heard that this time it’s going to be different…we’ll see about that -I’m not going to speculate. Either way, we still love Hayden-Harnett and all the other designers -understanding the limitations of working with synthetic materials to maintain a certain price point must serve quite the challenge.
