Cue Tyra crunkin’ her badonkadonk to the opening tune…
Tomorrow at The Park Central New York the ‘America’s Next Top Model’ casting director will be in attendance for Cycle 12 of the New York open-call casting for next season. Be: at 870 Seventh Ave. between the hours of 10a-3p (and by that I mean no later than 7am because you know how these things go). Be: a female age 18-27 and Be: at least 5′ 7″ tall. Good Luck!
P.S. -just had to Google badonkadonk cuz I am proud to say I don’t know how to spell that and guess who is the first image to pop up? Kim Kardashian…yeah, that wasn’t very hard to figure out but it did make me laugh.
This is Patrick Griffin’s first solo show -the concept: there will be a giant wall resembling a leather jacket with many over-sized buttons on them. There will also be a performance during the opening by TV Baby (members of A.R.E. Weapons). The details (because even if you click on this flyer they are still illegible): Tonight 6p-9p @ The Journal Gallery -168 North 1st St. in Williamsburg, BKLYN.
Just a little FYI that Freemans will be closed today until Aug. 17th for a makeover. It’s not a big deal, just minor renovations -the stuffed game will still be leering out of the walls and such. New chef Michael Citarella is taking over and the kitchen will be making some changes.

British streetwear-obsessed curator of Maharishi, Hardy Blechman, dreams in camouflage -this we already know. But, interestingly, Blechman has sourced an unexpected cloth to manifest his dreams into fashionable reality. The boys over at Men.Style.com found actual ties between the clandestine print and traditional woven twill or herringbone pattern, “The estate tweeds worn by Britain’s landed gentry not only allowed families to differentiate themselves, they also blended into the landscape -all the better for hunting.” Actually boys, the Brits refer to it as stalking, but who the hell cares when the result looks like this? This fall Maharishi will release a whole collection centered around the material which Blechman collaborated with Moon & Son on. Moon & Son is a mill specializing in manufacturing tweed fabrics and is based in Yorkshire. The line will include military-style hunting jackets such as the one pictured, shoes and crewneck sweatshirts.
Although the Army of M.E. has allies working on the front lines of Hayden-Harnett, they were unable to confirm the brand’s possible collaboration with Target when we inquired a few weeks ago (WWD speculated the deal). Through our own rekon/spy network we’ve since found out that the collaboration is, in fact, slated to happen! I know, you’re wondering the reason for the exclamation point when all the other collaborative lines have left us so disappointed. Thus far, those tapped by Target have read like a list of my favorite accessories designers and yet on launch day (or even prior, during photo leaks), I’m left trashing the pieces because they look incredibly cheap. Well, we’ve heard that this time it’s going to be different…we’ll see about that -I’m not going to speculate. Either way, we still love Hayden-Harnett and all the other designers -understanding the limitations of working with synthetic materials to maintain a certain price point must serve quite the challenge. As always, we’ll have leaked photos up of the line in the next few weeks. Meanwhile, click HERE to find several of their handbags hugely discounted on their website!
British pop sensation Leona Lewis has been tapped to design a range for British fashion sensation Topshop. Our London bunkers are reporting that Leona Lewis and Philip Green are meeting before she heads back to the States. Lewis has previously mentioned interest in designing a vegan clothing line -whether this collection will be vegan is unconfirmed. We are covering this mostly for the comedic value -this will by quite the hotmess, just imagine Mariah Carey designing for…well, anyone. Lewis is not quite the queen of cheese like Carey but they are quite similar in the nauseatingly-girly department.
