12AugSeptember 2008 Re-designed Interview Magazine

Lingering in your future are not only the unabridged dictionary-sized September issues of fashion glossies, but the hugely anticipated re-design of Andy Warhol’s Interview mag since Glenn O’Brien, Fabien Baron and Christopher Bollen replaced Ingrid Sischy. Any second now it will be on stands and will feature the Kate Moss cover pictured here. What’s behind this cover? An interview with Martin Margiela -who just about never gives interviews! They will also have a new feature called “Interview Back Page” where they will print retro interviews. The first one is with Christy Turlington from when she was 16. Apparently, the current August issue was their best selling in a decade. It was tough to hear of Sischy’s departure but we are pretty excited to see the future Interview.

12AugComme Des Garçons For H & M In W Magazine

Although we showed you scanned images from the Comme des Garcons range for H&M already, this shot is styled and on a form for the September issue of W magazine. The line will not be available for mass consumption until November. I suspect there will be early-formed lines,  absolute madness and empty, disheveled racks within moments of the doors opening. There are some particularly stand-out items (considering the price point) that I think most people will gravitate towards making them even more coveted.

12AugAgyness Deyn Engaged?

Agyness Deyn is apparently engaged to her boyfriend and Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. after only dating two months. Friends of the couple have apparently confirmed the rumor to who else but Us Weekly. Since they met they’ve been inseparable and Aggy has been crashing at Al’s place while looking for, and closing a deal on, a place of her own in Brooklyn. The rumors have not been confirmed or denied “officially” but what is undeniable is the massive rock on her ring finger…you figure it out. It’s like wondering if Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson are more than just BFFs -c’mon.

11AugKatie Holmes And The Hideous Jeans Continue

Both HERE and HERE we made fun of Katie Holmes and her aggressive style agenda to try and bring back the pinch roll pant cuff via 1985. We’ve deployed our fashion army to take her as a prisoner in our war on bad taste. The ladies over at Style File seem to have discovered the details behind Katie’s awful look. We know she’s been looking to her BFF Posh Spice for style queues (as well as diets, read: the 900 calorie/day diet -that’s about what’s in the Frapp you’re drinking). For the pinch-rolled jeans, it seems Holmes sourced Posh’s hubby Becks who has recently been endlessly wearing his PRPS Impala jeans much like her. Not surprisingly, those are men’s jeans and while it can be quite cool to rock pieces from your man’s closet -it must be done appropriately, and not pinch-rolled. Here is Katie, her bulky pinch rolls and adorable Suri in Manhattan this past weekend.

11AugOpening Ceremony Party & Radiohead At All Points West

*We were actually in the city this weekend so we have reason for a little Monday briefing:

-Friday was 08.08.08 and the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics, the Army of M.E. were in attendance…kind of. We were at the boutique Opening Ceremony here in NYC. There was a dj, lots of champagne, many of the Nike’s we highlighted on Friday and one of the only gay/bi/etc. cheerleader groups doing a cheer on the steps leading up to OC’s third floor. The debate was centered all around whether to get the gold/silver Nike Air Force 1’s which were being sold in a very democratic manner of making only so many available throughout time intervals. We had some time to catch up with Humberto and told him how excited we are for the Japanese invasion coming soon! (This is our photo of the Nike Quilted Patent kicks displayed at the Opening Ceremony event)

-Saturday we unexpectedly were invited to see Radiohead perform at the All Points West music and arts festival. It was outdoor on a perfect - weathered night, on the grounds of Liberty State Park which is blanketed by the lights of the hovering downtown buildings of the Financial District and Lady Liberty’s torch. It was the perfect night in every way! Click HERE for much better (for editorial use only) images at Wireimage -unlike our drunken mess of a shot, sorry.

11AugBegins Today In L A: Agnes B. Moving Sale

08AugNike Air Max 1 : Olympic Perforated Metallic Hotness

Yes, today is all about the Olympics and the Olympics are all about Nike. We decided on a separate post focused only on these because the Army of M.E. officially declares these kicks the absolute hotness and our ultimate shoegasm. As you likely are aware of by now, they will be available first exclusively at a Nike Sportswear shop-in-shop set up in Opening Ceremony. But you must be invited to the preview today to purchase -whatever is left will be available to the public at a later time. But, I suspect this shit will be sold out in .00001 seconds. Seriously, if they don’t have your size/you’re a girl, you will buy them and sell them on Ebay for a small fortune, unless you’re just plain stupid.

Nike Air Max 90 Current Artist Series Pack -designed by Ben Drury (Black/Red/White), Kevin Lyons (Orange/Black) and Hito Yokoyama (Grey/Black). The details that highlight each artist are on the tongue, heel and lining. Released today on Overkill.

Nike USA Pack which consists of the Blazer High, Delta Force Low and the Rejuven8 in a navy/white/red colorway. The Blazer and Delta Force come with a silver Swoosh. Available starting today at premium retailers in-store and online.

Nike Dunk High Supreme “Octodunk” Pack in Seamless Polka Dot Design. All five colors along with detailed close-up pictured here.

Nike Dunk High “Quilted Patent” Pack. The Upper is entirely made of patent leather that has a quilted pattern embroidered. The sole and lining have the same color as the upper -and there are 5 colors available each in the colors of the Olympic rings. Missing in the photo are the yellow and green -we like these three colors best.

Also, apparently the Nike Sportswear website launched this morning. You will find latest news and events in association with Nike Sportswear, product stories and the Kicks Creator. Since we’ll be at Opening Ceremony tonight, we will swing by the Nike Sportswear shop opening today on Mercer. It’s one of the first Nike Sportswear stores -we assume they will sell the more fashionable/non-performance collections like the kicks you see in this post. Below photo by The Shophound.
