22OctS R Hero : Woman Who Tried To Handcuff Karl Rove

The Army of M.E. never shuts up about our addiction to dlisted and our unwavering love for Michael K. -the man behind the site. However, there was a minor oversight yesterday with the ‘Hot Slut of the Day’ crowning. It went to the gorgeous voice of the woman who sings ‘Thank You For Being a Friend’, the Golden Girls theme song. The Army of M.E. has determined in the land of our Republik of Style that the ‘Hot Slut of the Day’ should actually be the woman in the below video who tried to handcuff Satan spawn Karl Rove. He was sitting on a panel spitting his usual hellfire of lies when she walked up on stage and attempted to handcuff him -as she was escorted away she was shouting that he should be arrested for treason. Right on! This woman just may be the Hot Slut of the month as far as we’re concerned! Incidentally, she was not arrested and watch all of the below news highlight to see other protesters who needed to be dragged away and harsh words dished out to Rove from those on the panel with him.

22OctRestaurant Charles Opens Today

Brilliant chef of The Waverly (and former co-worker of mine), chef John DeLucie is at the consulting helm for the latest, greatest epicurean addition to the West Village, Charles. A departure from DeLucie’s delectable comfort dishes, he has encouraged chef John McAllister to curate a menu from his specialty of lighter, healthy Mediterannean dishes. DeLucie is a consultant on the project and oversees the finalized menu which will be laden with fish and dishes cooked with olive oil as opposed to butter. In addition to heart-friendly fish and olive oil, some pre-opening dishes included seared duck breast with roasted grapes and escarole, braised beef short rib with swiss chard and golden raisins, as well as diver scallops and prawns with fingerling potatoes and saffron. The wine list and select cocktails equally impress with consultation by Keith Goldston, owner of Time Warner Building wine bar, Clo. The interior was designed by Rafael de Cardenas who worked the denizen space into a brilliant rustic and cozy atmosphere. Plush red curtains, marquee bulbs and black-speckled wall mirrors add to the tin-ceiling, dark-floored room. Don’t expect to just show up and wait at the bar though, there are only six seats at the bar and they are not giving out the phone number. You can attempt a touching novella that harkens all emotions of how you absolutely need to experience Charles before you die at: reservations@restaurantcharles.com -but they’ll likely give you the contact of their snaggle-toothed cousin named Charles before they’ll give up a table.

14OctThe Great Schlep

Aside from this being one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen, courtesy of Sarah Silverman, it’s quite inspiring how it’s motivated the young Jewish community. For more information on The Great Schlep click HERE. For the CNN coverage that just aired on the impact of this ’schlep’ click HERE.

13OctSean Connery For Louis Vuitton Advert

So, I went to see Religulous on Friday night and between trailers began a serene and quiet commercial -I knew immediately what it was since this is what a write about, but the reaction of the audience was priceless. The din of movement and rumbling of popcorn bags silenced among the Angelika patrons who were wondering what in the world they were watching and what the point of it was. At the end when they realized it was a Louis Vuitton commercial there was a little uproar of laughter and random “What the F**K”s circulating the room. I’d say the reaction to the below ad would be much more widely accepted as Sir Sean Connery just gets better with age and is as classic as the LV logo luggage pictured in the ad. But seriously LV campaign supervisors, stick to print ads.
